Meeting the
Farming Champion.
During
term 3 we were visited by a lady from Queensland named Liz. She came down to
explain how the cotton farming which is her job (Agronomist).
She told
her about how cotton was grown with a special seed that is coasted in a blue
coating, which helps the seed to grow. The blue also acts like an insect
repellant. She also taught us about irrigation, which also helps the seeds to
grow. They use lateral irrigation.
Insects
can stop the cotton growing these insects are: aphids, green vegie bugs.
